For the second consecutive Fourth of July, the three of us retreated to Roan Mountain for a relaxing getaway.  Parker has been to the Roan several times, but this was the first time that he has hiked on the Appalachian Trail.  We hiked up to Round Bald where Parker enjoyed walking around and climbing on rocks (see photos and movie pages).  Our hike was cut short by a bad storm that swooped in, but we had fun running down the mountain as it started to rain.
